Wil je op 24 mei 2026 meedoen aan de 50ste Vogalonga in Venetië?
De Vogalonga (betekent ‘lange tocht’) is een 28 kilometer lang roei-evenement dat sinds 1974 elk jaar op Pinksterzondag wordt gehouden in Venetië. De route gaat door de lagune en door de oude stad over het Canal Grande en is begonnen als een protest tegen de vele vervuilende motorvaartuigen die de lagunestad dagelijks teisteren.

Na de periode van de voorlopige aanmeldingen, staat de definitieve inschrijving nu open voor leden van Willem 3.

Meld jezelf of je ploeg uiterlijk 15 november 2025 aan via toercommissie@willem3.nl onder vermelding van ‘Vogalonga 2026’. Plus:
(a) je naam / jullie namen
(b) je / jullie mobiele nummer(s)
(c) je / jullie emailadres(sen)
(d) je / jullie afroeiklasse(n)
(e) je / jullie voorkeur voor een C*-boot of een wherry.
(f) wil je / willen jullie gebruik maken van het hotel dat W3 regelt ja of nee?
Bij aanmelding van een ploeg, ajb van alle ploegleden de contactgegevens doorgeven.
Na aanmelding ontvangen jullie een bevestigingsmail met aanvullende informatie.

Voor wie is de Vogalonga geschikt?
1. Je moet redelijk goed kunnen roeien (klasse S1 en St2) en een redelijk goede conditie hebben.
2. Het is aan te bevelen om tenminste 1x met je ploeg een langere afstand afgelegd te hebben.
3. Een bevoegde en geoefende Stuur per boot is verplicht.
4. Het is aan te raden om te kunnen wisselen op het water.

Hoe lang ben je onderweg?
Reken op een gemiddeld verblijf van 4 dagen in Venetië.
Vrijdag aankomst, Zaterdag de botenwagen lossen en je boot over roeien van Het Lido naar Giardini. Zondag de Vogalonga roeien, en daarna terug naar het Lido (naar de botenwagen). Maandag vertrek.

Wat is de volgende stap?
1. We zullen je vragen om een voorschot over te maken ter bevestiging van je definitieve aanmelding en ter dekking van de gezamenlijke kosten.
2. Er komt een Tweede Informatiebijeenkomst voor de definitieve Vogalonga deelnemers, waar we dieper in zullen gaan op de voorbereiding en de reis.
3. De ploegen en de boten worden in overleg ingedeeld.
4. In het voorjaar organiseren we onder andere een workshop over het afdekken van je riggers en boeg om inkomend water te voorkomen. En een workshop over het inschatten van afstanden op open water.

Wat gaat het allemaal kosten? (indicatief!)
1. De gezamenlijke kosten voor het botentransport*, je aanmelding* bij de Vogalonga organisatie en het gezamenlijke diner* exclusief drankjes en een post voor onvoorzien bedragen naar schatting tussen € 280,- en € 305,- per persoon (indicatie). *Offerte is aangevraagd.
2. Het W3 hotel kost voor 3 nachten inclusief ontbijt, btw en toeristenbelasting per persoon tussen € 312 en € 447. Afhankelijk van het kamertype (indicatie).
3. Als je liever zelf je overnachting wilt regelen, is dat natuurlijk ook prima.
Reken met een voorschotbedrag pp van € 710,- inclusief overnachting in het W3 hotel of € 305,- exclusief overnachting in het W3 hotel.

Je betaalt en zorgt zelf voor:
1. Je reis naar Venetië en terug.
2. Openbaar vervoer in Venetië.
3. Eten en drinken tijdens je verblijf.

Would you like to participate in the 50th Vogalonga in Venice on May 24th, 2026?
The Vogalonga (meaning “long journey”) is a 28-kilometer rowing event held annually in Venice on Pentecost Sunday since 1974. The route winds through the lagoon and the old city on the Grand Canal and began as a protest against the many polluting motorboats that plague the lagoon city daily.

After the provisional registration period, final registration is now open to Willem 3 members.

Register yourself or your team no later than November 15th, 2025, via toercommissie@willem3.nl, stating “Vogalonga 2026.” Also include:
(a) your name(s)
(b) your mobile number(s)
(c) your email address(es)
(d) your rowing class(es)
(e) your preference for a C* boat or a wherry.
(f) do you want to stay overnight at the hotel that W3 arranges, yes or no?
When registering a team, please provide the contact information for all team members.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with additional information.

Whom is the Vogalonga suitable for?
1. You must be able to row reasonably well (class S1 and St2) and have a reasonably good physical condition.
2. It is recommended that you have rowed a longer distance with your team at least once.
3. A qualified and experienced coxswain is required in each boat.
4. It is helpful if you can change places on the water.

What’s the next step?
1. We will ask you to make a deposit to confirm your final registration and to cover the joint costs.
2. There will be a second information meeting for the confirmed Vogalonga participants, where we will discuss the preparation and the trip in more detail.
3. The teams and boats will be assigned in consultation.
4. In the spring, we will organize, among other things, a workshop on covering your riggers and bow to prevent incoming water. And a workshop on estimating distances on open water.

What will it all cost? (estimated!)
1. The total costs for boat transport*, your registration* with the Vogalonga organization, the shared dinner* (excluding drinks), and a contingency amount to an estimated price per person: between € 280,- and € 305,-. *Quote has been requested.
2. The W3 hotel costs between € 312 and € 447 per person for 3 nights, including breakfast, VAT, and tourist tax, depending on the room type. (estimated)
3. If you prefer to arrange your own accommodation, that’s perfectly fine too.
Calculate an advance payment pp of €710, including your stay in the W3 hotel or €305, excluding W3 hotel.

You are responsible for paying and for taking care of:
1. Your travel to and from Venice.
2. Public transportation in Venice.
3. Food and drinks during your stay.
